Showing Navidson The Farm

I brought Navidson up to the farm today.  He'd never been here before.  He says it's like a giant dog park.  I don't know what a dog park is, but if it's like the farm, then it must be fun.

Navidson makes Marty stay on a leash because he doesn't have her trained as well as Dan.  It kinda stinks for him that he has to watch her like that, but it really stinks for me, because he keeps getting me tied up in the leash!  (Look at my feet.)

We played fetch with tennis balls for a while, but that got boring, so we decided to play tug with firewood.  LOTS more fun!

I get to use big dog dishes when we're at the farm, so I don't mind sharing!

Soccer

Yesterday we went to see a soccer game.  From what I can tell, "soccer" means, sit outside and be hot and watch human puppies play fetch.  Marty did bring me a lot of treats and water, so it could have been worse.  Also, I got to see my friend H. Bill.  When we first went to his house, he was running around with no fake fur like he usually does, but his mom put some on him when we left.  I don't know why, it was way too hot for any kind of fur.

Do you want to know why he's clapping in this pic?  It's because MARTY LET HIM EAT MY CHICKEN!

Some giant dog came over and stuck her face right in mine while we were watching the human puppies.  Marty told me I was a good dog, and Lyle told her human she was a BAD HUMAN.  My humans are the best!

Lyle's Birthday

Did you know humans celebrate their 1/7 birthdays?!  Lyle is 7 and 4/7 today.  I'm hoping to have him trained before he turns 8.  He's a lot of trouble, but I'm glad he's mine.

Navidson!

When we got back from the farm, Dan and his dad brought Navidson over to my house!  He's staying until Monday.  He was a little sad that his human left him, but I told him that if he had to stay with any humans besides his own, he's lucky to be with mine.  We had about an hour to play before Marty had to go to work.  Then we both had to go in our crates.  Navidson didn't want to, but Marty gave him some liver and convinced him.

Marty came home at lunch and checked on us, but only for a little while.  Playing hard is pretty exhausting though, so I was ready to go back in the crate and take a nap when she left.  Navidson was harder to convince.  Navidson gets a whole bowl of food AND his water in the crate with him.  I really want to be allowed to eat his food, but Marty won't let me.  She shuts his crate when he's not in it so I can't go in there and explore.  I think I should be allowed to try it at least.  I mean, how am I supposed to learn about different cultures if I never get to sample anything?

Marty took us both out again when she came home from work, and we played for a while until Lyle came home and then we all went for a walk together.  Marty cannot give me treats fast enough when Navidson is walking in front.  I think we're going to have to work on that a lot more.

We played really hard for a long time.  Marty got so distracted she forgot to take me outside to pee on the grass.  TWICE!  She'd been doing really well about that.  In fact, the last time she forgot was when Navidson was here last week.

My leg is still bothering me, but not as bad as last night.  We're going to have to talk to Dr. Richards about it on Monday.

Hide and Seek

This morning we had to get up so early it was still dark.  I didn't want to leave the farm and get in the car so I hid under the bed.  Since they've started letting me sleep out of the box they thought I was GONE when they got up.  Marty told Lyle, "We're missing a dog!"  Lyle was not as concerned as I think he should have been, but eventually Marty found me.  There's really not enough room for me under the bed, so I had to army crawl and then Lyle pulled me out.  I didn't even get a chance to play fetch before they dumped me in the car.

Scary Times At The Farm

I had my last night of Fido on the Farm tonight.  I'm a little sad that I can't do the rest of the classes (they're going to play hide and seek next week), but I get to start back with Miss Jessica on Wednesdays and that's more important.  Maybe I can do Fido on the Farm again next spring.

Tonight we walked a lot longer and practiced running really fast to our humans again.  I am SO good at that.  Marty didn't do such a good job of giving me treats for walking nicely though.  I think she has trouble focusing when there are so many distractions.  I need to get her out and practice with her more.  She was even worse than usual because the treat bag got left at the farm on Monday night, and so she had the treats in her pockets instead.  Talk about unprepared humans.  I made her order another treat bag so we'll have a spare in case this ever happens again.

Look how bad this is.  She's not even looking at me!  I had to stop and wait for her to get her act together, it was pretty embarrassing.

When we got back to the farm (after Sonic, YAY!) I was playing fetch in the house with Lyle and I ran into the coffee table.  It hurt SO BAD.  I cried A LOT!  Marty was on the phone with my grandhuman and she said all she heard was Marty say a bad word and then, "We'll call you back."  Marty came over and snuggled me and looked at my foot and said, "We might have to go to the emergency clinic."  I just wanted snuggles though, I did NOT want to go see a vet that's not even my regular Dr. Richards, so I stopped crying and walked normal.  Lyle gave me LOTS of treats and Marty says he is going to turn me into a sausage.

Exciting news is that Navidson is coming over tomorrow morning and he's staying until Monday!  I can't wait!!
